Of all the 150 books that I have read in 2024, these are the ones that had covers that I liked the most. They are in no particular order and my favourite is at the bottom.
We have so many books in common. A good cover is very important, at least to catch my eye and make me want to pick it up. I’ve noticed a few publishers now use a very soft textured paperback cover, a bit like moleskin, which is very tactile. A book is an experience!
Some gorgeous covers there Paul. I love the Blossomise one. Agree with you about Cairn. It’s simple and complex at the same time, elegant and beautiful, just like Kathleen Jamie’s writing.

We do. A good cover makes a good book better. I like paperbacks with french flaps, not keen on the matt finish though as they show all my fingerprints

It had big Andy Goldsworthy vibes too, hence why it ended on top!
I look forward to the cover post every year. Thanks. The Mystic Orchards cover is my favorite along with Cairn.
Thank you, Marcene.
Some stunning covers there! We’ve got a Ravilious calendar in the hall this year.
Not as many as the previous year. I love his work, it feels so timeless
