October 2026 Review

October was a strange month; we don’t move very often, especially given the expense and the shockingly large amount of stamp duty, but, move we did. I didn’t read that much for the first 10 or so days and then got to read some shorter books. So here is what I managed to read.

Library Books Checked Out

None!

Books Bought (Or Sent by Friends)

As I have said elsewhere, I am trying to buy fewer books. So I will give totals of l the number of books that enter my house and those that leave permanently. These are the figures for this month:

Books in: 3 I kept this below:

Veg Patch –  Mark Diacono

Books out: 63 (!!!!!) (The books leaving the house were sold, returned to the library or passed on to friends or charity. I am aiming for this number to be higher than the one above!!!).

So, are there any from that list that you have read, or now seeing them, now want to read? Let me know in the comments below.

Spread the love

Good to hear that you are settling into your new home. We are still dithering about a potential move – sometimes it all seems just too much to contemplate but I would love to be nearer my grandsons. Decisions need to be made!

I’ve been dithering about the Fiesta book, wasn’t sure it was for me but you made it book of the month and I trust you!

      Do it!

I liked Fiesta a lot, but it wasn’t superb

63 books out is a job well done! Congratulations on your move (exhausting, I know) and I hope you continue to settle in.

Thank you, Elle! It was over 200 in September. It was exhausting, but we love it here
